Introducing ISO Summer Style 2003

April 2003…Feminine. Sexy. Graceful. Dramatic. These are just some words to describe Summer Style—the 2003 Seasonal Trends Collection from ISO—Innovative Styling Options. The theme of this collection is a combination of beauty, grace, innovation and believability translated from fashion into hair.

Hair Trends

Big Hair is back and is better than ever. Think back to the days of Cher, Charo or Stevie Nicks. This trend comes full circle, yet with a more feminine expression of flowing and sexy locks.

Texture will be everywhere. Bangs are back in all lengths, especially length over length and multi-layered bangs.

Color will enhance the length on length look by layering or over-layering color. Some examples are café au lait overlaid with bronze, chrome and copper. Platinum, silver, sapphire and flaxen will be prominent to play on color and shine.

"This is the season of color," states the Director of Education for ISO. "Café au Lait will be used as the new neutral and red will also be at the forefront. You will see a lot of red, especially on the famous red carpet," she adds.

"Summer Style also supports diverse looks", adds ISO’s Artistic Director. "Hair is full, yet innocent with soft movement and tousled look to promote the ultimate in femininity."

6 techniques have been created for this collection.

They are:

• Cut and Color Blasting: This technique can be used on any type of haircut and focuses on blasting a shock of color into the hair.
• Cut and Color Burst: This technique can be used on any type of haircut that has sweeping length and weight through the crown to the front area. It focuses on adding a burse of dramatic color into the overall style.
• Cut and Color Dimension: This can be used on any type of hair or cut and focuses on all overall, soft and dimensional color.
• Wavetex Braid: This technique implements Flexirod tools to create full, soft and feminine texture and waves.
• Ridge Wrap: This technique also implements Flexirods to add texture, volume and depth to the hair.
• Perimeter: This technique separates hair into two radical partings and uses Wavetex tools to add texture to the perimeter of the hair.

Each look is highlighted with softness to frame the face with strong, yet very feminine lines. The techniques add texture, volume and versatility best to create movement softness and individuality.

For Cut and Color Burst: Start with ISO Color Preserve Cleanse and Color Preserve Condition. Follow with Color Preserve Serum. We recommend Tamer Smoothing Foam Gel and Maximize Extreme Hold Gel for sleek and sultry hair. Finish with a few bursts of Creative Shaping Spray.

For Cut and Color Dimensions: We recommend Tamer Smoothing Foam Gel and Intensifying Control Shine Gel and Color Preserve Serum.

For Wavetex Braid: We recommend Transforming Firm Hold Mousse for control and Bouncy Crème Texture Energizer to impart awesome texture, definition and separation.

For Ridge Wrap: We recommend multiplicity multi-texture styling crème with disciplining smoothing gel for function. Try Luminate Glossing Glaze on ends for added shine and mobilize working spray to set look.

For Perimeter Wrap: We recommend Whipped Cream Wax, multi-texture styling crème and tactile texture paste to soften waves as well as add definition and added texture. Finish with Mobilize Working Spray.
